This extraordinary 10-piece Collector Set draws inspiration from the "Space Jam: A New Legacy" movie, featuring a central tourbillon watch and an interactive basketball sculpture. The set seamlessly blends performance, technique, and the whimsical world of Looney Tunes with unparalleled style.
Much like basketball, the Space Jam Central Tourbillon encapsulates precision and sporty elegance, demanding skillful technique and excellence from its craftsmanship, reminiscent of the attitude of the athletes on the court.
The 3 Hz KS 7'000 caliber proves to be the ideal complement to the "Space Jam: A New Legacy" Tourbillon, mirroring Kross Studio's urban design flair and finely honed technical expertise.
This in-house mechanical hand-wound movement, featuring an oversized barrel capable of delivering a 5-day power reserve, takes center stage within the intricate design. The absence of space around the center is ingeniously filled by placing the regulator within the central tourbillon cage, positioned atop the barrel.
The central tourbillon cage towers over the piece, adorned with an openwork basketball-like structure that unveils its regulator beneath.
Like the majority of the watch's components, this piece has been machined in the Kross Studio workshops and meticulously hand-finished to achieve a high-end horological refinement.
Every part of the watch encourages to stand up and be ready for action, just like the hour hand that turns into a free-throw lane, filled with white and blue Super-LumiNova®. Moreover, the hours and minutes adopt a distinctive presentation method — the hands are anchored to a peripheral display mechanism that gracefully orbits 360° around the mesmerizing tourbillon, enhancing the watch's overall dynamism and appeal. A 12-factor gear ratio allows the planetary minutes system to empower the progression of the hours.
The Tune Squad takes center stage, engraved on the fixed hour wheel, with every member of the "Dream Team" poised for action. From iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Tweety to Sylvester, Marvin the Martian, Yosemite Sam, Granny, Taz, Speedy Gonzales, Elmer Fudd, and Wile E. Coyote, all the way to Road Runner – each one is prominently featured and ready to bring their unique energy to the scene.
The entire scene is showcased within a 45mm grade 5 titanium frame and protected by a sapphire crystal dome, elevating the watch with a distinctive expertise in horological craftsmanship.
On the reverse side of the case, the Studio's namesake cross emblem is subtly accentuated through the blue PVD-coated plate and barrel bridge, creating a captivating effect.
The fully skeletonized design offers a profound view of the intricately detailed components, including wheels cleverly styled as basketballs.
Winding the watch and setting the time are effortlessly achieved using the « D-ring crown" on the case back and the "Time Set" push button, strategically positioned at 3 o'clock along the watch's edge. This system not only maintains design symmetry and enhances comfort compared to a traditional crown, but it also facilitates quicker winding, adding a practical touch to the overall experience.
The watch comes with two straps: one crafted from deep blue calfskin leather, and the other featuring laser-abraded rubber, meticulously replicating the iconic orange color and texture of a basketball.
The straps can be easily changed thanks to our interchangeable strap system, facilitated by two quick-release buttons conveniently placed on the underside of the case, allowing for seamless customization based on individual preferences.
The watch is accompanied by a functional art piece, a stand-alone design sculpture known as the Kross Studio B-BALL. Crafted and engineered by Kross Studio, this sculpture takes on the shape of a basketball, intricately made from wood and aluminum. The captivating design features eleven wooden layers, symbolizing flat basketballs, arranged on a central pillar to produce an enchanting visual effect.
The heart of the sculpture serves as a storage space for the watch, unveiling it by simply lifting the ball straight upward. This dual-purpose design adds a unique and artistic dimension to the overall presentation.
